The Messe Basel and Congress Center is located in the heart of the city, with ease of access by foot or public transport.
For this application, we pre-booked the 2nd and 3rd floors (with 1 room optional, see below) and additional spaces in parts of Hall 4.1 and 4.0 for 5-7 June 2025, as well as additional days for setup and dismantling. You’ll find the official proposal on the Documents page, which you can access with the provided password.

- 2nd floor (Floors 1 and 2 in the tool are in fact floors 2 and 3 in the building, see above for a more detailed floor 3 visit)
- Hall 4.1 = 1st floor
- Hall 4.0 = underground floor
- Hall 1.0 = can be reached via the skywalk, possibility for the after-party
All floors is fully accessible with elevators. The Montreal room is the only auditorium-like room (with bleachers) and offers seating for people unable to use stairs.
3rd floor
San Francisco
The San Francisco room is perfect for Track 1, as well as for the Contributor Day.

Bigger Foyer and terrace
Rooms Osaka and Samarkand walls can be removed to increase the size of the foyer and give access to the terrace.
2nd floor
Tracks 2 and 3
Montreal and Singapore could hold tracks 2 and 3. In the proposal, you’ll find one version with Montreal and one version without, in case we do not want a third track.
Catering area and other rooms
Sydney could be used for catering, seating area and WordCamp connect. Additional catering points would be found near the sponsors on Floor 2 and Hall 4.1
Rooms: Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Mexico, Miami, Nairobi, Rio, as well as on floor 4.1 and isolated rooms in hall 4.0 complete the necessary number of rooms for all the needs listed in the requirements: Registration, Happiness Bar, WordCamp Connect, Workshops, Speaker green room, Organisers and volunteers lounge, HQ rooms for Content, Photography and Comm teams, Matt and staff rooms, Wellness room, Quiet/Prayer room, Kids/toddlers/babies, Nursery/breastfeeding.

In the 2nd and 3rd floor foyers and in the Hall 4.1 where space can be adjusted based on needs for additional sponsor area.
Environmental sustainability
The Messe Basel & Congress Center attaches great importance to environmental sustainability issues. It endeavours to make sparing use of on-site resources, generates its own solar power, ensures correct waste disposal, and covers its electricity needs with 100% renewable energy. The catering – provided by the exclusive partner Wassermann & Company AG – supports regional producers and avoids using disposable dinnerware.

Accessibility
The Messe and Congress Center Basel are fully accessible for people with mobility impairments. All areas can be reached with lifts or ramps.
Production
The Congress Center site provides all the technical details for each rooms and halls, on the dedicated pages and in .pdf files. Rooms San Francisco, Montreal, Singapore and Sydney provides permanent stages, complete A/V systems including livestreaming, and interpreting booths.
